Rashbari Garden House: A Time-Travel
Last weekend was awesome... Me, Aniruddh (my brother) and Bonny (brother from another mother 😆) were in Kolkata and visited Dakshineshwar temple and Belur Mutt (Ramakrishna Mission headquarters). And then we literally went back in time to visit a "Bagaan Bari" (Garden House) called RashBari Garden House. The place has a rich history and dates back to late 19th century. This place is a beautiful temple complex that was started by Shri Purnachandra Dawn of the renowned Jorasanko Dawn family. There's a beautiful Navaratna temple (with nine pinnacles /spires on top) dedicated to the family God, Radharaman Jew. There's even a RaashMancha where festivities happen during the Raash Utsav. There are 6 Aath Chala Shiva temples, which are beautifully renovated and a grand clock tower. Just beside the temple complex is the Rashbari Garden House overlooking the Ganges...
